2. Differences between the ADB and MTP transfer methods
When using the USB connection mode, the user also needs to choose a transfer method: ADB or MTP.
ADB is more stable and works better for regular use. It is recommended if the USB mode is used often. To use ADB, it is required to turn on Developer options and USB debugging on the phone.
MTP is a good choice for occasional use. It does not require USB debugging. However, some features are not available. On some phone models, the connection may be less stable.

Step 1: To enable Developer Options, go to Settings -> About phone, find Build number and tap it 7 times. Step 2: Go to Settings -> Developer options, enable USB debugging. Note: depending on phone models, “About phone” can be under “Settings -> Software information”, “Developer options” can be under “Settings -> System”, etc.

When the MTP transfer method is working, the phone shows up as an external storage drive in the Windows File Explorer on the PC. The phone name shows as the name of the external device. And under the external device, the common Android user folders are listed, including the well-known folders such as Download, DCIM and Pictures.

6. What to do if the MTP transfer method stops working after installing both ScreenOnPC HD and ScreenOnPC Lite on the phone?
When both ScreenOnPC HD and ScreenOnPC Lite have been installed, the ScreenOnPC Viewer detects both versions when using the MTP transfer method. In this case, the ScreenOnPC Viewer assumes the server is ScreenOnPC HD by default. As a result, the MTP transfer method works if the ScreenOnPC HD is used; it fails if the ScreenOnPC Lite is used.
If a user wants to run ScreenOnPC Lite using the MTP transfer method even though ScreenOnPC HD has also been installed, it is necessary to set “Server app is ScreenOnPC Lite” in the settings of the ScreenOnPC Viewer.
