- How to send text from the PC to the phone
1) In the ScreenOnPC Viewer, left-click a text input field on the phone. A text-editing flashing cursor should appear.
2) Hold the Ctrl key and left-click the text-editing cursor to open the Text Forwarder dialog box.
3) Type the text you want to send.
4) Click “Send”, “Paste to there”, or “Copy to there”.
(Note: For “Send” and “Paste”, ensure you click exactly on the text cursor in step 2. For “Copy to there”, step 1 is not required; and the click position in step 2 does not matter.)
2. Difference between “Paste to there” and “Send”
“Paste to there”: Inserts the text sent at the current cursor position. “Send”: Replaces all existing text with the text sent.
3. Differences between “Copy to there”, “Paste to there” and “Send”
“Copy to there”: Only copies the text to the phone’s clipboard. “Paste to there”: Copies the text to the phone’s clipboard and inserts it at the cursor position. “Send”: Replaces the text in the input field without copying it to the phone’s clipboard.
4. How to retrieve text that was just sent
Click “Latest” button to display the most recent text sent to the phone.
5. How to send text from the phone to the PC
1) In the ScreenOnPC Viewer, select and copy text on the phone (this saves it to the phone’s clipboard).
2) Hold the Ctrl key and left-click anywhere to open the Text Forwarder.
3) In the dialog box, click “Receive”, “Copy-to-Here”, or “Paste-to-Here”.
6. How to select and copy text on the phone
1) In the ScreenOnPC Viewer, move the mouse to the start of the text.
2) Long-press the middle mouse button.
3) Drag the middle mouse button to select the text area.
4) Click COPY in menu that appears on the phone screen.
(Note: in the Step 2 and 3, you can also hold the Shift key and use the left mouse button instead of the middle button.)
7. Functions of the buttons in the Text Forwarder dialog box
- Send: Replaces the text in the phone’s active input field with the text from the dialog box.
- Latest: Displays the most recent text sent to the phone.
- Copy to there: Sends text to the phone and copies it to the phone’s clipboard.
- Paste to there: Sends text to the phone, copies it to the phone’s clipboard, and pastes it at the cursor position.
- Receive: Fetches text from the phone’s clipboard and displays it in the dialog box.
- Copy to here: Fetches text from the phone’s clipboard and copies it to the PC’s clipboard.
- Paste to here: Fetches text from the phone’s clipboard, copies it to the PC’s clipboard, and pastes it into the dialog box.
(Note: In the Text Forwarder buttons, “here” refers to the viewer device and “there” refers to the phone.)
