- How to send text from the PC to the phone?
1) In the ScreenOnPC Viewer, left-click on a text input field on the phone. A flashing text edit cursor should appear.
2) While holding down the Ctrl key, left-click the text edit cursor to open the Text Forwarder dialog box.
3) In the Text Forwarder dialog box, type the text you want to send.
4) Click “Send”, “Paste to there”, or “Copy to there”.
(Note: For the “Send” and “Paste” operations, in step 2, please make sure to clicking position is where the text edit cursor is located. For the “Copy to there” operation, step 1 is not needed; and in step 2, the clicking position does not matter.)
2. “Paste to there” vs “Send”. What is the difference?
“Paste to there” inserts text to cursor position; “Send” replaces the whole text of the text edit field.
3. “Copy to there” vs “Paste to there” vs “Send”. What are the differences?
“Copy to there” only copies the text to the clipboard of the phone. “Paste to there” not only copies the text to clipboard of the phone but also inserts the text to cursor position. “Send” does not copy text to the clipboard of the phone.
4. How to retrieve the text just sent?
Click “Latest”.
5. How to send text from the phone to the PC?
1) In the ScreenOnPC Viewer, select and copy text to the phone clipboard,
2) While holding down the Ctrl key, left-click anywhere to open the Text Forwarder,
3) In the Text Forwarder dialog box, click “Receive”, “Copy-to-Here”, or “Paste-to-Here”.
6. How to select and copy a section of text on the phone?
1) In the ScreenOnPC Viewer, move the mouse cursor to the beginning of a text section,
2) Long press mouse middle button at the beginning of the text section,
3) Drag mouse middle button to modify the selected text region,
4) Click COPY in the popup menu on the phone to copy the text to the phone clipboard.
(Note: in the Step 2 and 3, instead of using mouse middle button, it also works to use mouse left button while holding down Shift key.)
7. Buttons on the Text forwarder
- Send: Send text in the Text Forwarder dialog box to the phone, and replace the text in the text edit field where the latest mouse-left-click was performed.
- Latest: Show the most recent text sent to the phone.
- Copy to there: Send text to the phone, and then copy the text to the clipboard on the phone.
- Paste to there: Send text to the phone, copy the text to the clipboard, and paste the text to the position where the latest mouse-left-click was performed.
- Receive: Receive text from the phone clipboard, and replace the text in the Text Forwarder dialog box.
- Copy to here: Receive text from the phone clipboard, and then copy the text to the clipboard on the PC
- Paste to here: Receive text from the phone clipboard, copy the text to the PC clipboard, and paste the text to the mouse cursor position in the Text Forwarder dialog box
